SUPER JOB DAVIES

Created by Paul 3 years ago

My brother Stephen and I started Karate lessons at Rank Xerox Karate club around 1977. The first time we met Brian was when he visited a session and joined in wearing only a green tracksuit. We were junior orange belts at that time ( I was 14 yes old) Brian persisted with the lessons and it seemed no time at all he became the clubs 2nd blackbelt.

We would travel with Brian in his mini 1275GT to  Wotton Karate club to gain extra training under the guidance of Adrian Baker.

Brian and Adrian were tough teachers but the lessons set my brother and I in good stead for service in HM forces.

Stephen joined the RAF I joined the Royal Marines, thanks to Brian my interest in the martial arts never wavered and I now hold Dan grades in two styles of Aikido and 1st kyu in Judo and I still have my brown belt awarded to me by Brian.

Brian stood out for us as kids, he was tough, cool, a real hard act but always fun to be around.

Sorry we lost contact and sorry to hear of his sad passing.

Will always think of him bunny hopping over hurdles leading the way forward and shouting SUPER JOB!!

RIP
